New social enterprise for Leicestershire (December 14, 2005)
The formation of the new organisation Network Rural in south east Leicestershire will open up new opportunities for residents in this rural area. Building on the work of the Rural Training Centre, which has offered IT and business courses since 2002, the new organisation will provide more leisure courses than ever before.
We talked to company secretary Andrew Pennill about the new company and its aims and objectives.
"We have called the organisation 'Network Rural' to reflect the importance we place on providing a meeting place for people. This area is quite sparsely populated, with lots of small villages. We'd like to think we can provide a friendly and relaxed place that people can come to learn and have social contact with other like-minded people."
"This is a not-for profit company so that all the money raised from courses goes back into the business. So far we have had great support from clients, who will be an important part of the future success of this venture."
