NEW Art Cafe at Owston (June 10, 2008)

New Art Exhibition Space and Café for Training Centre

The Rural Training Centre in the sleepy village of Owston is one of the best kept secrets on the Leicestershire Rutland border.  Having built a reputation over the last few years as a provider of excellent quality training in a diverse range of subjects, the staff at the centre are now delighted to announce that their new Arts café is open for business.

Part funded by Northamptonshire ACRE, the new extension offers an exciting exhibition space for artists and an ideal venue for local people to drop in, enjoy some art, a cup of coffee and a cake!  The exhibition programme starts in earnest this September though artists have booked their monthly slot as far ahead as November 2009.  In the meantime, to offer a taste of the artistic delights to come, Great Easton Art Club will be displaying their work from June 21st to July 11th.  The café will be open for visitors Monday – Friday 11.00am – 4.00pm and also for the first weekend of the exhibition, Saturday and Sunday 21st and 22nd.  This event is part of Rutland Open Studios, where many artists in the Rutland and Leicestershire area will be displaying work at various venues for art lovers to enjoy.

For further information about the Rural Training Centre and Network Rural, the community organisation hosting this event, please call 01664 454 507 or visit www.networkrural.org.uk.  There you can find more information about the leisure and arts courses on offer and forthcoming exhibitions at the centre.
